Couple of weeks ago, out of the blue, I got a message from Arch. Michel V. a colleague from my previous job, he wanted to know some details about a software I developed and deployed back then 10+ years ago…. and this application was still working every day.
What a pleasant surprise!
I felt so lucky, it was a mixed feelings moment, so many memories.
It was so satisfying do the fact application features nowadays changes so quickly or are replace for another technology so fact that in some cases … 10+ years on service means a lot of time.
The application main goal was to control and send to plotters (printers) blueprint files resulting from engineers and architect’s projects.
Today, if you make a quick search on the internet you may find many applications like this one to choose from or maybe they did not try to find another application to replace it with… maybe that is the case.
Anyhow, let me show you some screenshots from Printing Center v 1.0.
This is the main view.

This is where the magic happen sending the blueprint print file to the plotter.
After printing is completed, send a notification email to the blueprint owner.
That helps a lot in deadlines times.
Ask Radamés F. known as Taty, the Printing Center Operator, he is the one, the controller that runs the magic in the Plotters Room. Everyone knows him.
